Description   AEM Original Cold Air Intake Acura CL 2001-03 A/T Only Type-S . AEM pioneered the Cold Air induction system for sport compact cars in 1995. Our Cold Air systems are dyno-proven to create more useable power than any other system of their kind. AEM proudly manufactures and assembles its air induction systems in the USA. Every AEM Cold Air induction system features an individually tuned, mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum inlet pipe for each specific application. We test many combinations, and tune the length and diameter of each system to work with an engines harmonics (resonance frequencies) to help carry more air to the inlet valves across the RPM range. Its a thermal dynamic fact that cooler air is more oxygen dense. Since oxygen is an integral part of the combustion process, the more you bring in the bigger the explosion in your combustion chamber, and the more power you make. That is why we relocate the filter outside of the engine compartment with our Cold Air intakes. On systems that have long inlets or when the bracket carries an unusual amount of stress, AEM incorporates a load distribution flange (plinth) that spreads the load across the surface of the intake pipe, instead of directly on the bracket welds, which could cause failure. We also TIG weld all of the brackets and fittings for the best durability. Every AEM air induction system features the highest standards of construction; we even guarantee them for the life of your vehicle. We submit every Cold Air system we make to the California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.) to achieve an executive order verifying that they are 50-state legal.
